The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC organized “Imagine the unimaginable: ending Genocide in 21st Century” conference. The Secretary of state Hillary Clinton was the keynote speaker. The Director of the Museum Mike Abramowitz, Senior Vice President James Lindsay, Worldwide President Mark Penn and others where among the speakers. Two panels: “Over the Horizon: Global Trends Affecting Genocide” and  “Innovative solutions in responding the future challenges” followed the speeches. The CNN Anchor Wolf Blitzer moderated the second panel. Arwa Darwon, Beirut correspondent for CNN, Strive Masiyiwa, founder and chairman of EcoNet Wireless, Sarah Sewall, from Harvard University and Richard Williamson from Brookings institution participated. The participants mentioned that the development of Social media and communication technologies became an obstacle for implementing new Genocides and mass atrocities in the world, since the transparency has increased significantly. However, the CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer advised not to overestimate the importance of social media.
